How fit do I need to be?

Don’t worry about how fit you currently are, focus on how fit you want to be! All of the exercises have options for easier versions and less intensity, so just start as easy as you want to and ramp it up when you feel ready!

Who is it for?

The program is for anyone who rides a bike and wants to get better and fitter! It is focused on racing and training for events, but by no means do you have to race to get a benefit from the program. If you want to get fitter, be able to ride faster and for longer, get more enjoyment out of your rides and recover quicker and feel better, then the program is for you! Smoking your buddies on your local trails is just an added bonus…!

What equipment do I need?

You should be able to do the program at most gyms. You don’t need any special or exotic equipment, just a barbell and some plates, a squat rack, dumbells, kettlebells, pull up bar and a medicine ball. Cardio wise you will need a rowing machine, treadmill and an assault bike. Don’t worry if you don’t have all 3 of these, as long as you have one or two then that will be fine. The vast majority of all gyms should have this equipment.

How long is the program?

As long as you want it to be! We recommend training for at least 8 weeks before an event to really get in good shape but even doing 2 weeks of work is going to be better than nothing.

Will I get jacked/shredded bro?!

This isn’t a bodybuilding plan, so don’t expect to get bodacious biceps and tremendous traps! You will however build muscle all over, increase your endurance, and your high intensity work capacity! Depending on how good your nutrition is, you will also lose body fat so them abs should start to come out also! And when you see a jacked bodybuilder on the trails that is all show and no go, you’ll be able to whoop them down the trails and then back up!

How does it work?

It is designed in a way that you can choose your own workouts using a pick’n’mix style. This means if you aren’t particularly feeling one exercise for one session then you have others to choose from. The program uses supersetting and circuits to get the most work done in as short a time as possible and to keep your heart rate high.
